SERIES 27 DIRECT DRIVE, HOODED, RECIRCULATING ROOF VENTILATOR SK-880-27 NOVEMBER, 1997
The Direct Drive, Hooded, Recirculating Roof Ventilator, shall be manufactured by Hartzell Fan, Inc.®, Series 27. Standard sizes are 24" through 60". This unit provides roof ventilation, either exhaust or intake, plus the option of recirculating ceiling air and, if desired, mixing of ceiling air with ambient outside air. The ventilator package shall include a roof hood and base, and a drop through the roof recirculating section.
The hood shall be constructed of minimum 18 gauge, galvanneal steel, and the base shall be constructed of minimum 14 gauge, galvanneal steel, phosphatized and painted. This design shall provide for complete protection from elements for either supply or exhaust airflow.
The lower recirculating section (containing the fan and shutters, factory installed) is constructed of minimum 12 gauge hot rolled steel. Standard surface coating system shall be phosphatized surface preparation with an industrial grade sir dry enamel paint.
The shutters shall be heavy duty, center pivoted, motor operated type, constructed of 16 gauge galvanized steel, with one motor operator controlling both the face and recirculating shutters.
The reversible double ring fan (Series 14) shall have a double airfoil design propeller, cast of 319 aluminum, in compliance with Federal Specifications QQ-A-601E and ASTM B26. Propellers shall be retained on the motor shaft, utilizing a split taper bushing or a clamp block arrangement.
Solid rolled rod motor mounts provide support for the motor. Motors shall be totally enclosed air over type. All fractional motors shall be permanently lubricated, non-regreasable. Integral horsepower motors shall be supplied with regreasable bearings. The propellers shall be mounted in a high efficiency air seal fan orifice.
The fan assembly shall be dynamically balanced at the Hartzell factory prior to shipping. Fans shall be balanced in accordance with AMCA Standard 204-96, fan application category BV-3 (comparable to Grade G6.3). Fans shall be manufactured in accordance with Hartzell's standard quality assurance procedures. Fan performance shall be based on tests conducted in Hartzell's AMCA accredited test laboratory and in accordance with the latest revision of AMCA Standard 210 for air performance and AMCA Standard 300 for sound.
